Body Count is de metalband van de Noord-Amerikaanse rapper Ice-T. De band werd gevormd in Los Angeles in 1990 en is de voorloper van veel bands die Metal met Rap samenvoegden. Er werd, ondanks dat Ice-T een grootheid in de Hip-Hop en Rap is, op de eerste 3 albums echter weinig gerapt. De eerste plaat die Body Count uitbracht ("Body Count") was een aanklacht tegen racisme en criminaliteit in South Central Los Angeles, maar sneerde ook naar corrupte politie. Het nummer "Cop Killer" zorgde voor grote controverse. Op de heruitgave van dit album verving Ice-T het nummer door 'Freedom of Speech'.
