Post Description

ArcSoft TotalMedia®™ Extreme is a complete software solution for working with high definition multimedia content. It is a suite of applications that allows you to play video, edit and author video and music discs and photo slide shows, and back up files, using a combination of Blu-ray discs (BDs), DVDs, and CDs. The applications work together seamlessly, providing a fully integrated solution.

Fully Integrated, Upgradeable Application Suite
TotalMedia Extreme includes our high performance video playback software, our successful data archiving program, and video creation applications designed specifically for high definition technology - all in one elegant, seamlessly integrated solution. And if you don't have one of the newer optical drives yet, you can buy a DVD-only version of the software, then upgrade later. Check out the TotalMedia Extreme Versions Information page for more information.

Universal Player, including Blu-ray
In addition to playing commercial and homemade DVD movies, the TotalMedia Theatre application plays Blu-ray discs, AVCHDs, CDs, VCDs, and a variety of multimedia files, including QuickTime, RealPlayer, DVD-Ms, WMV HD, and H.264 HD videos.

For Blu-ray, TotalMedia Theatre fully supports the entire specifications and can play back:

Blu-ray movies (BDMV, BD Live), including all Hollywood movie discs, with full support for Java games and Internet interactivity
Personal recorded BD-R/RE discs (BDAV)

Best Performance on High Definition (HD) Content Playback
The TotalMedia Theatre application supports playback of all three Blu-ray disc video formats - High Definition MPEG-2, AVC, and VC1 as well as all kinds of other High Definition (HD) content: WMV HD, Quicktime HD, DivX HD, and H.264 HD HD. Support includes both 1280x720 (720p) and 1920x1080 (1080p). The smooth playback and excellent performance (lower CPU usage) make TotalMedia Theatre the obvious choice for your video-watching needs.

True Home Theatre: Next Generation Audio Formats
TotalMedia Extreme fully supports the next generation audio formats used in Blu-ray discs: LPCM, AC-3, Dolby Digital Plus, MLP, DTS, and DTS-HD. It also supports Dolby Digital and DTS through S/PDIF.

Interactive Hollywood Movies
TotalMedia Theatre fully supports the Blu-ray specifications. Besides great video playback and seamless switching between formats, this means you can play the latest Hollywood movies, plus take advantage of interactive content like game play and Internet connectivity through the new BD-Java technologies.

Video Capture, Edit, and Share: BDMV
Use the TotalMedia Studio application to capture, edit, and author customized high definition (or standard definition) content, like photo slideshows and home movies. It is for making discs that contain scene selection menus and chapters. Simply follow the steps along the top of the screen and design your own scene selection menus or use the provided templates. Then burn your content to BDMV disc or DVD.

Video Capture, Edit, and Share: BDAV
Use the TotalMedia VR application to capture, edit, and author personal video content, especially recorded TV shows or HDV or DV discs transferred directly from your camcorder or HDTV tuner. You can also use it to capture video direct to disc in real-time. Your disc will have real and virtual playlists of videos and photos. Choose video clips or slideshows to add to your BDAV project, or edit the playlists of an existing project, then burn your content to BDAV disc.

Music and Data
TotalMedia Extreme isn't just about video. You can create audio CDs to play in your car or from your home stereo system. You can rip your audio CDs to hard disc in a variety of formats, and you can copy CDs easily. Both music and data discs are easy to create or duplicate, whether you prefer CD, DVD, or BD format.
