Synopsis:

Seoul, 1910. HONG Jin-ho, who will become Joseon's first detective, travels around solving trivial family disputes for pocket money as a private detective. However, he is determined to go to America someday and is saving up for the trip. Then one night, Gwang-soo, a medical physician in training, discovers a corpse in the woods and secretly takes it to practice dissecting. But the corpse turns out to be the son of Seoul's most powerful man. While planning to flee in the middle of the night and afraid of murder accusations, Gwang-soo meets Jin-ho, and asks him to find the killer. When another corpse turns up in the woods, murdered in the same way as the first victim, Jin-ho and Gwang-soo use a piece of cloth they find in the victim's hand as the lead they need to bring them one step closer to the real killer.

Inhoud:

Seoul, 1910. Hong Jin-ho die Joseon's eerste detective zal worden, reist ook rond om onbelangrijke familietwisten op te lossen, dit als privé-detective voor wat zakgeld. Hij is nochtans vastbesloten om ooit naar Amerika te gaan en hij is al een tijd aan het sparen voor de reis. Op een nacht ontdekt Gwang-soo, een medische arts in opleiding, een lijk in de bossen en hij neemt het mee naar zijn praktijk om in het geheim het lijk te ontleden. Maar het blijkt de zoon te zijn van de machtigste man van Seoul. Daar hij bang is voor de beschuldiging van moord, maakt hij plannen om weg te vluchten in de nacht. Maar Gwang-soo ontmoet Jin-ho en vraagt hem om voor hem de moordenaar op te sporen. Wanneer er opnieuw een lichaam in het woud gevonden wordt dat net op dezelfde manier als het voorgaande vermoord werd, vinden Jin-ho en Gwang-soo een lap stof in de hand van het slachtoffer. Dit zou de eerste stap moeten zijn om hen op het spoor van de moordenaar te brengen.
