Synopsis:

A thousand years ago, an evil spirit was kept imprisoned in a lake by the first emperor of the Chilla empire. Now unleashed, it possesses the body of Ja Woon-bi, the wife of general Biharang, with the aim to bring down the very dynasty that destroyed his people. Biharang is torn; to kill the spirit, he has to also kill his wife.

Inhoud:

In het oude Korea overwint de eerste Silla koning Auta, de leider van een lokale stam, waarna hij hem gevangen zet in een meer. Door middel van een magisch zwaard wordt de geest van Auta bewaakt. 1000 jaar later in de 9e eeuw staat het koninkrijk onder druk. Rebellen zorgen voor veel onrust en koningin Ji-seong heeft alleen generaal Biharang op wie ze kan rekenen.
