In Gloucester, retired secretary Marlene shares her house with 40 cats. Her day starts with a delivery of food for her felines, which sets her back about 200 pound a week.

They are groomed and bathed every day, a procedure that can see Marlene up until the early hours of the morning, particularly on the eve of one of the many cat shows that she enters. 

We follow Marlene to one such show, where seven of her cats come under the judges scrutiny and six of them walk away with Best in Class rosettes.
