The Marty Stuart Show
Country Music Icon Marty Stuart's original television series The Marty Stuart Show continues to pay tribute to traditional music in 2009. Fans across America who love country music in its purest, most traditional form have been enjoying the show every week since November on RFD-TV at 8:00pm, where Stuart handpicks each guest and executive produces the thirty-minute episodes himself.
Each show features music by Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives, as well as his wife, the Rolls-Royce of Country Music, Connie Smith and banjo pickin' Leroy Troy. Radio personality Eddie Stubbs serves as the show's announcer and Stuart's sidekick on every episode.
"I love this show. It represents everything that I cherish about traditional country music," said Stuart. "I've fallen head over heels all over again with rhinestones, love songs, train songs, gospel songs, fancy pickin' and the steal guitar. I've always believed God made Saturday nights for country music. As I suspected, there is a world of people out there waiting on this kind of entertainment and the response has been off the charts."
Marty's guests include Mel Tillis, The Oak Ridge Boys, Wanda Jackson, Kathy Mattea, The Quebe Sisters, Earl Scruggs, Little Jimmy Dickens, Charley Pride, Charlie Daniels, Josh Turner, Gretchen Wilson, John Rich, and Dierks Bentley.
