BBC The Sky At Night A Night To Remember Apollo 11 (1969)

A BBC special released in 2009 to commemorate the Apollo 11 landing 40 years previously. Includes an old 15 minute Sky At Night episode looking at the history of moon missions prior to Apollo.

In a pioneering speech on May 25th 1961 President John F Kennedy pledged that the USA would land a man on the moon before the end of the decade.

This special "The Sky At Night" film, introduced by Sir Patrick Moore, pays tribute to the phenomenal mission which was successfully completed in July 1969 and celebrates what has been described as the greatest adventure of all time.
