In Engeland ontstaat begin dit jaar ophef nadat bekend wordt dat de Britse National Health Service 47 miljoen medische dossiers doorverkoopt aan verzekeraars.

De gegevens werden gekoppeld aan kredietwaardigheidsgegevens. Zo konden verzekeraars bijvoorbeeld een inschatting maken van het risico op longkanker. De verzekeraars gebruikten de data om de premies aan te passen, vooral patienten jonger dan 50 jaar zijn meer premie gaan betalen.
