PAUL McCARTNEY - ON THE RUN - LIVERPOOL, U.K. DEC. 20, 2011
The closing show of his On the Run tour, that took in just 11 dates across three continents, was a greatest hits set spanning his career from early Beatles numbers to more recent singles.
McCartney's second ever appearance at the Echo Arena - the first was to accept a lifetime achievement award at the MTV European Music awards in 2008.
SIR Paul McCartney turned back the clock at the Liverpool ECHO arena, playing songs from across his glittering career with The Beatles and beyond.
Dressed in a black suit and pink shirt he kicked off with Hello Goodbye, Junior's Farm and All My Loving on his trademark Hofner violin bass.
"Well hello Liverpool. This is the last night of our tour and what a place to end it," he grinned.
There was a massive cheer from a crowd that included John Lennon's half-sister, Julia Baird, and Sir Paul's brother, Mike McCartney.
He was on electric for Penny Lane - added specifically for the Liverpool date - and an explosive Live and Let Die on piano with fireworks and fire cannons.
He did have his senior moment during "Blackbird" though, as he stopped & started over again without missing a beat.
Two encores finally satiated the crowd, with the musician welcoming the LIPA 4-19 Choir on stage for Wonderful Christmas Time under a festive snowfall.
