De laatste jaren is het duo Grant & Forsyth bijzonder succesvol met countrygetinte albums. "In between dances" is wederom een country-album. Toch onderscheidt deze cd zich van zijn voorgangers, omdat zij op deze cd behalve echte countrynummers ook aan aantal popsongs voorzien van een countrygeluid. Enkele voorbeelden hiervan zijn "I swear" (All 4 One), "You don't bring me flowers" (Neil Diamond), "Heartache tonight" (The Eagles) en "Jealous guy" (John Lennon). Ook schreef Julie Forsyth twee nummers zelf.
