Mexico is een land in Noord-Amerika, grenzend aan de Verenigde Staten, Belize en Guatemala, de Grote Oceaan en de Golf van Mexico. Ook enkele eilanden behoren tot Mexico.
Mexico is een enorm land met een grootte van de Benelux, West-Duitsland, Groot-Brittannië, Frankrijk, Spanje en Italië samen.
Mexico is een federale republiek bestaande uit 31 staten en het Federaal District, oftewel de hoofdstad Mexico-Stad, gelegen op 2240 meter boven de zeespiegel en een van de grootste steden ter wereld.
Het land heeft 111 miljoen (2009) inwoners. De meest gesproken taal is het Spaans, waarmee Mexico het grootste Spaanssprekende land ter wereld is; Indiaanse talen worden door zo"n 10% van de bevolking gesproken.
