Archie and Lexie have returned from their honeymoon and Archie immediately feels the need for a new challenge, thinking of returning to London to manage a restaurant. Lexie is not impressed, but soon the family are faced with a serious situation when an unexploded bomb is found in the cellar at Glenbogle - Duncan's grandfather's surprise wartime souvenir...
Archie finally makes his departure from Glenbogle, heading for a mountain climb in Nepal with his sister Lizzie, after they discover that their father, Hector climbed the same mountain in his youth. Lexie is left to run the estate with the help of Paul, however, inevitably the pair end up disagreeing with their very different views held on the running of the estate.
