Archaeologists piece together the story of the PoW break out that inspired the classic war movie. The inmates of prison camp Stalag Luft 3 dug three tunnels 30 feet underground, and in March 1944, 76 prisoners made a run for freedom. 


Experts attempt to find traces of the tunnels and the tools used to build them, with the aid of the three veterans who survived the air raid to make it to safety.
