Post Description
Joe Ely Band
Threadgill's South (Beergarden)
Austin, Texas
August 21, 2010
Quality: Excellent audience
Taper: Mike Rowefoen
Transfer/encoding: joeyjay
Including Artwork: Chee-Zee
Notes: Awesome show as part of the 40th anniversary
celebration for the epochal Armadillo World Headquarters
in Austin. The playing is hot, and Joe and David share some
of their memories from back in the day. Ol' Mike was really
happy with how the recording came out. He recommends
popping on a pair of nice headphones and you are there.
Be warned that David leans on the tremolo pretty heavy for a
few seconds toward the end of "Me And Billy The Kid" ... he
was definitely feeling it this night. Never get tired of watching
this band play - or hearing "Letter To LA" ... just magic.
As always, thanks to Joe and all the boys over the years for
the great nights of fun and music. Please support them any
way you can. Continued thanks to The Coin for the surrogate
mics. This one is highly recommended. Enjoy. On with the show ...
