The Block contestants are in for a shock this season,
confronting the biggest,
toughest renovations in the show's history.

The new series begins with eight determined couples
competing in a tense 24-hour,
do-or-die Elimination Challenge to see who makes it through
to the major thrill ride: the full property renovation.

With barely a roof over their heads, no running water and dirt floors,
this year's teams have ten weeks to restore one of four dilapidated
South Melbourne terraces that were built in the goldrush of the late 1800s.
