Gary Barlow keert terug met zijn eerste solo-album sinds 'Since I Saw You Last' uit 2013. Met 'Music Played By Humans' voegt Gary een eigentijdse touch toe aan de orkest- en bigbandmuziek waar hij als kind verliefd op werd: het is een album met originele composities en bevat nummers opgenomen met een 80-koppig orkest. Leadsingle is de latin-geïnspireerde single 'Elita' met Michael Bublé en Colombiaanse ster Sebastián Yatra. Andere samenwerkingen op het album: Beverly Knight, Alesha Dixon, Chilly Gonzales & James Corden.
