Summary
The storyline of Bubblegum Crisis 2033 was left unfinished after episode 8 due to a massive falling-out between production companies ARTMIC and Youmex. Although Bubblegum Crash! (takes place about a year after Crisis starts) was released as a sequel, produced by ARTMIC, it had practically no references to what happened at the end of this series. It did however contain elements that were meant to be part/ending of the planned 13 episode storyline of the original OVA. Youmex decided to sue ARTMIC over it, thus effectively putting the entire franchise on ice for a long time...

The saga of the Knight Sabers continues as the group tries to find out who or what is behind the recent string of robberies, murders, and Boomer malfunctions which are somehow related to the creation of an advanced artificial intelligence. Furthermore, it seems that the Knight Sabers may be breaking up.
