Little Richard - Here's Little Richard - 1989


This is yet another straight reissue of Little Richard's first album, Here's Little Richard, which originally appeared on LP from Specialty Records in 1957, and was then reissued on CD by Ace Records in 1989, and in several guises since. The good news is that these mono recordings, engineered by Abe Robyn and full of New Orleans backbeat and Richard's gospel-inspired and over-the-top vocals, are stone-cold classics no matter how one hears them. From "Tutti Frutti" to "Ready Teddy," "Long Tall Sally," "Rip It Up," and "Jenny Jenny," each of these tracks is part of the very bedrock of rock & roll.
