Synopsis:

Based on the beloved children's novel by Zhiang Tian Yi, The Secret of the Magic Gourd is the first film produced in China in the Chinese language by Disney.

The story is familiar to many parents. Ray, an 11-year-old boy, has a vivid imagination and many gifts. He'd like to accomplish a lot, but he doesn't want to work to get it. One day he goes fishing and lands the Magic Gourd (voiced by High School Musical star Corbin Bleu). It's a legendary vegetable that will grant him anything he wants, as long as he tells no one about it.

With the ability to grant any and every wish, the Magic Gourd tries to make all of Ray's wishes come true, but instead turns his world upside down. Soon Ray discovers that getting everything he wants isn't all it's cracked up to be.

After one too many snafus, Ray is determined to succeed on his own. But can he do it without the Gourd's help?
