Post Description
The last Stones album in which cover material accounted for 50 percent of the content was thrown together from a variety of singles, British LP tracks, outtakes, and a cut from an early 1964 U.K. EP. Haphazard assembly aside, much of it's great, including the huge hit "Get Off of My Cloud" and the controversial, string-laden acoustic ballad "As Tears Go By" (a Top Ten item in America). Raiding the R&B closet for the last time, they also offered a breathless run-through of Larry Williams' "She Said Yeah," a sultry Chuck Berry cover ("Talkin' About You"), and exciting live versions of "Route 66" and Hank Snow's "I'm Moving On." More importantly, Jagger-Richards' songwriting partnership had now developed to the extent that several non-A-side tracks were reasonably strong in their own right, such as "I'm Free" and "The Singer Not the Song." And the version of "You Better Move On" (which had been featured on a British EP at the beginning of 1964) was one of their best and most tender soul covers.

Great little collection of odd bits & pieces. Not one of their best albums, but still worthy of a listen or adding to your collection.
December's Children (& Everybody's) is the 5th American studio album by The Rolling Stones, released in late 1965. Drawn largely from 2 days of sessions recorded in September to finish the British edition of Out of Our Heads & to record their new singleó"Get Off Of My Cloud"óDecember's Children (& Everybody's) also included tracks recorded as early as 1963.
Half of the songs appearing on the album were written by Mick Jagger & Keith Richards, as they penned strong album cuts like "I'm Free" & "The Singer Not the Song" as well as such major hits as "As Tears Go By" & "Get off of My Cloud".
December's Children (& Everybody's) reached #4 in USA & went gold. Bassist Bill Wyman quotes Jagger in 1968 calling the record "[not] an album, it's just a collection of songs." Accordingly, it is only briefly detailed in his otherwise exhaustive book Rolling With the Stones.
In August 2002 December's Children (& Everybody's) was reissued in a new remastered CD & SACD digipak by ABKCO Records with "Look What You've Done" being issued in stereo.
The title of the album came from the band's manager, Andrew Loog Oldham. According to Jagger, it was Oldham's idea of hip, Beat poetry.
