Synopsis:

An exotic, legendary battle between the forces of good and evil comes to life as the celebrated disciples of the Shaolin Temple -- monks who practice a lethal and spiritual form of martial arts -- fight the evil followers of China's Manchu rulers.

During the Ching Dynasty, the Shaolin temple opposed the Manchu government. The Emperor launched an attack on the temples, forcing many monks to flee. One monk, Chi Nun, is on the run, aided by folk hero Fong Sai-Yuk. Whilst hiding in a barn, they meet a young girl called Tou-Tou. They are captured and taken to the Red Lotus Temple, a prison where the Shaolin monks are imprisoned, tortured, and forced to work for the evil tyrant Lord Kung.

Inhoud:

Het duivelse Manchu bewind van keizer Yung - Ching leidt tot onderdrukking en misbruik van de Chinese bevolking. De enige die zich durven te verzetten zijn de Shaolin monniken. De keizer begint daarom een bloedige aanval op alle Shaolin tempels. Hij laat de gevangen genomen monniken opsluiten in de 'Rode Lotus' tempel. Wanneer meestervechter Fong daar ook belandt is dat het begin van een gewelddadige strijd voor vrijheid.
