We do the over-under encodings especially for the passive TV owners.
Over under has exactly same resolution that the passive TV's can display in 3D mode: 1920x540 for each eye.
So with over-under you get 1920x540=1036800 pixels, with half side by side you get 960x540=518400 pixels for each eye.
