The six hour series, aired over three consecutive nights, offers insight into the behind the scenes goings on of the space race.




1)  A Place Beyond the Sky.

 
This first episode begins in 1957 and tracks the early years of the space race as the United States struggles to catch up with the Soviet Union.

The episode reveals breathtaking failures and successes of the nascent American space program and demonstrates the stakes and costs of reaching the moon.

De zes uur durende serie, die gedurende drie opeenvolgende nachten werd uitgezonden, biedt inzicht in het achter de schermen van de ruimtevaart.

Deze eerste aflevering begint in 1957 en volgt de eerste jaren van de ruimtewedloop, terwijl de Verenigde Staten moeite hebben om de Sovjet-Unie in te halen.

De aflevering onthult adembenemende mislukkingen en successen van het ontluikende Amerikaanse ruimtevaartprogramma en toont de inzet en kosten van het bereiken van de maan.
