Synopsis:

Replete with seat-gripping action and nerve-wracking intensity, Seven Days is filmmaker Won Sin Yeon's second feature film following his 2005 horror flick The Wig. Won's new kidnapping thriller sold more than one million tickets nationwide within two weeks of release. Kim Yoon Jin (Shiri), now a world-class actress most recognizable for her US television series Lost, delivers a rock-solid, compelling performance as a top-notch lawyer who must acquit a murderer of his crime within seven days to save her kidnapped daughter. Though internally teetering on the brink of madness, Kim's character remains icy cool, carefully maneuvering through a complex maze of puzzles with stern focus and dexterity while her daughter's life hangs on the edge. The adrenaline-driven tension that mounts during the emotionally charged negotiations between Kim and the suspect is said to match that of Hollywood hit thrillers Negotiator and Ransom. The plot progresses at thunderbolt speed, squeezing out suspense and thrills at every turn and leaving the audience with sweaty palms. Ji-yeon is a successful lawyer and single mother to a seven-year-old girl. On her daughter's field day, Ji-yeon competes with other parents in a running race and almost comes in the first place. However, nowhere could she find the girl who's been watching and rooting for her mother to win. Later that day, Ji-yeon's receives a phone call from an anonymous man, who tells her he has her daughter in custody and proposes a deal. To see her daughter alive, Ji-yeon needs to prove a convicted murderer not guilty on his second trial, only within a week. Ji-yeon tries to convince herself the murderer should be innocent, but the encounter with the victim's mother makes her understand what drove crime-to-crime.

Inhoud:

Ji-yeon is een succesvolle advocate en een alleenstaande moeder van een zevenjarig dochtertje. Op een dag wordt haar dochter ontvoerd. Later die dag ontvangt ze een telefoontje van een onbekende man. Hij laat haar weten dat hij haar dochter heeft ontvoerd en doet haar een voorstel. Om haar dochter weer levend terug te zien, moet Ji-yeon binnen een week zorgen voor de vrijspraak van een veroordeelde moordenaar.
