Post Description
Mick Jagger & The Red Devils - The Famous Blues Session -- jagger has lost few of the bluesy touches he displayed as a 20 year old but seems curiously devoid of any additional growth. so while the young mick was once adding years of wisdom to his real age through performing other men's blues -- here he seems to be made shallower by not being able to fill those men's shoes. the musicians also lack the complete soul-mate devotion to this music that the early stones possessed, so it all seems kinda over-busy and more of a rich white millionaire's hiring a band for an afternoon's private whim -- lacking any sense of urgency or real heart-felt need. in the end, it falls way short of the original first four stones LPs, providing very little real listening pleasure. i cannot listen to more than half a song at a time. no sort of career could have been built on this -- it's strictly an understudy tape for stones cover bands.

hebbeding.
