B0857 - Luther Wright and the Wrongs - Rebuild the Wall

Rebuild the Wall is a 2001 album by Canadian alternative country band Luther Wright and the Wrongs. The album is a cover of Pink Floyd's progressive rock classic The Wall, reimagining each track as a bluegrass country song.

Occasional lyric changes themselves are worth the price of admission, such as these variations:

-"Howdy...is there anybody in there?"
-"Are there any deer in the theatre tonight? Get 'em up against the wall."
-"And there's one in my headlights, he don't look right to me..."
-"There's a collect call for Mrs. Floyd from Mr. Floyd, will you accept the charges from Canada?"

The adaptation of the original opening to a campfire scene with a soulfull harmonica solo should be your first indication that this is something completely different. The music, although far removed from the original, is a faithful telling in authentic bluegrass styles, and even if you're not a country fan, it's hard to resist. At just over 60 minutes, it's a lot shorter than the real thing, but a lot more fun, even during the usually depressing second act. Definitely worth a listen. 

There is no way on earth that you can pass this up. I am a true
blue forever pink floyd fan, and this isn't a mockery, but a
stellar tribute - i am at a loss for words, since just words
cannot convey how you feel when you hear this cd.
I first heard a piece of this on the radio, didn't recognize the
tune and style but found myself singing the words, ---- then
it hit me - this is FLOYD!! but not. and it's wonderful.
