Een Sovjet-schip vervoerde een lading opium voor  de pharmaceutische industrie. Moderne piraten veroveren na een gevecht het schip en haar bemanning. Onwillig om eventuele getuigen van hun gewapende aanval te verlaten, proberen de piraten de hele bemanning te elimineren. Een hevige strijd  op zee volgt tussen een gedeelte van de bemanning en de hedendaagse bandieten die geen genade kende.


The action of this adventure film follows a real-life story. A Soviet vessel was carrying a cargo of the opium for pharmacological industry. The present-day pirates, going after a rich loot, had treacherously captured the ship and its crew. Unwilling to leaveany witnesses of their armed assault, the pirates tried to eliminate the whole crew. A fierce mid-ocean fight ensued between a handful of Soviet sailors and the modern-day bandits that knew no mercy. The well-known karate specialists participated in the shooting. Judging by box-office figures, at the time of its release the film had been viewed by every third moviegoer.
