Plot English:
Life is a nature documentary series made by BBC television, first broadcast on BBC One and BBC HD from October to December 2009.[1] The series takes a global view of the specialised
strategies and extreme behaviour that living things have evolved in order to survive; what Charles Darwin termed "the struggle for existence". Four years in the making, the series has been shot entirely in high definition.

Een nieuwe mijlpaal in de geschiedenis van de natuurdocumentaire! Zelfs naar BBC-maatstaven is Life een ware tour de force. De makers reisden ruim vier jaar lang alle continenten af om het beeldmateriaal voor deze unieke productie te verzamelen. Wat deze coproductie van BBC, Discovery Channel, SKAI en Open University nog eens extra bijzonder maakt, is het feit dat alle beelden zijn geschoten in haarscherp HD. Life laat op een nog nooit eerder vertoonde manier zien hoe dieren en planten reageren...
