Synopsis:

The most anticipated film of the year, Fate stars two of Korea's hottest leading heartthrobs, Kwong Sang-woo and Song Seung-heon, in a haunting portrait of friendship tainted by greed. This thrilling action noir marks Song's much awaited return to the silver screen after recently completing his military service, as well as Kwon's first stab at playing a malicious character. Real-life pals Kwon and Song play longtime best friends who share a bond that is thicker than blood. Along with two other friends, Kim In-kwon and Ji Seong, the foursome enter the fast lane of criminal life. But soon their friendship falters as fate thrusts them into a world of betrayal and deceit.

Acclaimed director Kim Hae-gon delivers a powerhouse action drama with ace performances from his actors. The sole female cast member, Park Han-byeol, who stars as Song Seung-heon's troubled girlfriend, exhibits a maturity beyond her years, injecting much thrill to the plot. Chockful of drama, dangerous stunts performed by the actors themselves, and high-speed action including an elaborate car chase and a spectacular harbor scene in which various land and water vehicles were mobilized, Fate promises to keep audiences glued to their seats.

Inseparable friends Woo Min, Cheol Joong, Do Wan and Young Hwan drift into a life of crime built on solid camaraderie, making them the best criminal alliance the city has to offer. But with the passage of time, they look for ways to restore their innocence. Marking their next casino heist as their last act, they vow to walk away from it all and find a new life. But their chance to turn over a new leaf slips through their fingers when Cheol Joong capriciously pulls a double cross. Events snowball into a climactic point of no return and a ruthless game of greed and revenge begins between the betrayer and the betrayed, with only fate left to determine the outcome of the battle.

Inhoud:

Vier vrienden plannen hun laatste roof: het stelen van een grote som geld van een rivaliserende bende. Het risicovolle plan wordt met succes uitgevoerd, tot één van de vier de anderen verraadt voor een groter aandeel in de winst. Als vergeldingsactie worden de andere drie uitgeleverd aan de leider van de bestolen bende. Woo-min (Song Seung-heon) wordt gedwongen om de verantwoordelijkheid van de misdaad op zich te nemen en belandt achter de tralies. Na twee jaar komt hij vervroegd vrij. Hij probeert het verleden achter zich te laten, maar het lot laat het hem niet toe.
