Theo Richter, een Ierse politiedetective, werkt samen met Nieuw-Zeelandse agent Diana Huia, Ze zoeken een jong Iers stel dat is verdwenen uit een stadje op het Nieuw-Zeelandse Noordereiland. Terwijl ze met hun onderzoek bezig zijn, begint de plaatselijke bevolking te vrezen dat de verdwijningen te maken hebben met een reeks moorden uit het verleden.
