Radio Amateur Callbook CD-ROM Winter 2011 On this CD ROM, there is a Windows version (CALLBOOK.EXE) and a DOS version (CALLDOS.EXE) of the Radio Amateur Callbook. IMPORTANT: CALLBOOK.EXE is a 32 bit program, running with Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7. For Windows 3.1x or Windows NT 3.5x, the DOS version CALLDOS.EXE. can be used. All programs can be started directly from the CD ROM, no installation is needed. However, an installation program is included for your convenience. The CD-ROM has an autostart feature: After inserting the CD-ROM, you should be prompted whether you want to install the Callbook or to run it directly from CD-ROM instantly. In case the autostart is disabled on your system, you can start Lauch.exe manually. Installation (Windows 98 and higher): Choose "Run Setup" after the autostart of the CD-ROM or start Setup.exe manually. Please note: i. As always, it may be required to have administrative rights to use the setup program if you use Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7. However, in most cases the program will run directly from CD ROM even if you do not have adminstrative rights. ii. As the option "Run from CD ROM" creates icons only, no uninstall will be available when using this option. Uninstallation (Windows 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7): 1. Open the "Control Panel" 2. Open "Add/Remove Programs" 3. Select "Radio Amateur Callbook" 4. Choose "Uninstall" 5. In the uninstall program, click on "Start" to start the uninstall process. How to start the DOS version: Simply type your cd rom drive letter and :\CALLDOS. Example: D:\CALLDOS [Enter] if D is your cd rom drive. ADDITIONAL TEXT FILES: This cd rom contains text files stored in the directory "TEXTE". Read CALLDOS.TXT for information about the DOS version of the callbook.
